Disney Cruise Lines features exclusive multi-generational, family-friendly entertainment aboard its four ocean liners for guests of all ages. Whimsical amenities and spacious staterooms are perfect for families with small children. Choose from three types of cabins: Inside Staterooms, Ocean View Staterooms, or Suites. All rooms are equipped with queen-size beds, a mini-fridge, and an iPod docking station.
Meals, non-alcoholic drinks, and onboard entertainment are covered in the price of the cruise fare. Residents of Florida and military personnel are eligible to receive special cruise rates. Each cruise kicks off with a dance party with beloved Disney characters. Disney characters make frequent appearances throughout the length of the cruise. Also, shipboard crew members receive extensive instruction needed to perform their duties and to take timely preventive or corrective action when necessary.
Amenities include youth-oriented pools, miniature golf course, and basketball and volleyball courts. An onboard fitness center is available for guests over 18 years of age. At night, live shows and film screenings are provided. All ships host a Pirate Night featuring a themed dinner, deck party, and fireworks. Captain Hook and his pirate friends will come swinging in onboard the ship, singing and putting on a show for guests. Standard amenities found on all cruise ships include:
Teenagers can play video games and babysitting services are available until midnight during the cruise. Teens can also participate in supervised parties free from adults. There are a number of themed bars, lounges, and nightclubs for the over 21 crowd to enjoy. Adults can relax kid-free at the secluded Quiet Cove Pool located on every ship or book a soothing treatment at the onboard spa.
In recent years, Disney has expanded their reach allowing their guests to see different areas all over the world. With an increasing number of ships in their fleet, Disney is able to take families to new regions. These destinations include the following:
Dining options are different than other mainstream cruise lines. Guests are not assigned to a specific restaurant or seating time based on room selection. Guests are allowed to rotate among the three main restaurants and still keep the same table mates and waiters. Adult-only restaurants are available for those who need some time away from children. You can also select between two different seating times upon boarding the ship.
The Disney Cruise Line Vacation Protection Plan covers your family for certain unexpected circumstances and emergencies-both before and during your vacation. This plan includes travel insurance benefits underwritten by Transamerica Casualty Insurance Company and a 24-hour helpline.
There are no casinos, but bingo is available. Do not expect peace and quiet, as most activities are geared for energetic and boisterous children. Many onboard activities cost extra and can add up quickly. Offshore excursions are not included in cruise fare. Medical facilities are onboard, but services provided incur extra charges. Also, prices vary dependent on the number of people, date selected, and length of cruise. Vacations to all locations vary between $7,000- $10,000 for a family of four. Additional charges on services can be anticipated as well. Service fees are charged for the following:
Do not expect gourmet cuisine. Disney Cruise Lines exclusively feature All-American dining with kid friendly choices. Meals and beverages are included in the price of the cruise. However, soft drinks purchased at bars will incur separate costs. Children who are not potty-trained are not allowed in the pools. They may splash in the nearby fountain area in swim diapers.
Adult-only restaurants incur extra charges. Dinners cost $25-$75 depending on selection. Men are required to wear dress pants and shirts or jackets and women are required to wear slacks and nice shirts or dresses be allowed into these restaurants. Reservations may be required.
So magical. The employees are absolutely wonderful and it's so much fun. Overall just really great.
We just went on a Disney Cruise and it was absolutely amazing! Every detail was considered and it was the best family vacation to date. Thanks Disney!
I have been on other cruise lines and my favorite cruise by far is still the Disney one. They go all out and it was fun the whole time .
I don’t think we can ever top our Disney Cruise. Disney does everything right and that was no different on our Cruise. Our stops were beautiful. The entertainment was incredible and the food was amazing. Our kids LOVED the pirate night.
Disney cruises are the best! They give you so much care for the price you pay! Very worth it
I went on a 16 day Disney cruise and enjoyed being able to go through the Panama Canal. There were a lot of things to do both on and off the ship.
If your kids love Disney like mine, you have to go on. Disney cruise. They are more money than regular cruises but our kids were in heaven seeing the shows and characters all the time.
The children loved Disney Cruise and so did the adults !! Can’t wait to do it again !! Staff was great
As a child going on this cruise, it was the most magical thing ever. I can’t wait to take my kids on one someday.
Best cruise ever. The entertainment was amazing kids were truthful enjoying themselves. Island was so clean.
Was a great experience really liked it all the lifeguards were really nice and were all ways making sure no one gets hurt love the unlimited ice cream
The best place on earth! I love the characters and how welcoming everyone was for my family!
Disney Cruises are a family favorite! Such a magical experience, its like being at a more private Disneyland. Highly recommend.
This is the perfect cruise if you have kids! There are so many things for all of them to do. We took 3 kids (1, 6, 7) on our cruise out of San Diego and they all loved it. They loved spending time in the kids club (the older two,) and all of the shows and swimming. We left our youngest to be watched a few times and they were so nice in the nursery. Disney cruise lines are pricey, but we felt it was well worth the money.
This was a childhood dream of mine! Since I love Disney so much as well as taking cruises, this is the perfect vacation for me and my husband. We had such a magical time.
My next vacation will be a Disney Cruise. Fro what all my friends and research has told me they make every part of the cruise magical.
My dad took us on this cruise and it was the funniest week of my life and the boat is so family friendly it was a great time
I went on a Disney Cruise last Christmas and it was one of the best experiences of my life! The service was amazing and the food was really good!
Unmatched cruise experience, it was much better than any cruise I've been on. Constant entertainment.
The only cruise I've ever gone on was a Disney Cruise. Everything was so clean and well done. We loved the food, service, pools....and my kids LOVED the kids club. Definitely a great trip if you have young kids that are into the characters. The Castaway Cay was the best stop by far. That said, it was pretty expensive.
Everything Disney does is fantastic. When I went on a Disney Cruise I was impressed with the quality and my overall experience.
Known as a larger cruise line reflecting the quality and services of the Disney resorts
Overpriced! Who can fork over this much money for a cruise? You can do Royal Caribbean for half the price.
Had an amazing experience on the Disney Dream that our family will never forget. It was Disney customer service at it's very best and would highly recommend this trip to anyone.
I went on the Disney Fantasy during its first years. It was an unforgettable experience. I recommend it to families, friends and couples. There is something for everyone. This is the best cruise I have ever been on in terms of food, activities, venues, decor and services. (I have been on Norwegian, Royal Caribbean and Carnival cruises).
Great for kids and family destinations. Great team members who assisted with any needs.
By far and away the most fun cruise we've ever been on. Something for the whole family to enjoy...not just the kids.
Disney always does it best. Their cruise line is amazing, with so many options and so many things to do! Fun for all ages and all families.
Our Disney Cruise was amazing (Fantasy). The kids' club was definitely the highlight for my children. The only time they cried is when I checked them out of the club! It truly was "magical" for kids. They loved the science demonstration and when the characters came to visit. Speaking of characters, it was really easy to meet up with characters throughout the whole trip. My husband and I loved the food (Mickey bars!), shows, and pool.... and how clean everything was. We would love to go again, but it's a little too spendy for us!
Best vacation of my life. Crew are so friendly and the environment is amazing. good for all ages
BEST CRUISE EVER! Would do again. Perfect for all ages in a family and there is stuff to do for everyone. Staff is fantastic, food is good and the events are even better.
Best family vacation ever. we have been on several different cruise lines and keep coming back to Disney. They entertainment is fantastic and the entire experience is always magical.
if you want to talk about a magical experience book this family friendly cruise honestly it was the best thing i ever did the workers are so friendly and professional and the actors really do a great job of staying in character
We had been on Superstar Virgo cruise a few years back and thought nothing could top it. We weren't keeping high hopes on adults enjoying a Disney cruise but did it for the kids. But boy oh boy were we surprised. It was so much fun, endless entertainment so many activities, like a 24x7 party. The adults were more like the kids and enjoyed every minute. Highly recommend for the whole family.
My family and I embarked on the Disney Dream ship and it was nothing short of spectacular! Disney has customer service on lock down and it shows. It was perfect for our daughter being 4 years old to have a full-on Disney experience on the water. This is a must-do for the Disney lovers in your life young and old!
Disney is the top of the line for cruise lines. Every detail is great. They food is amazing. The service is perfect. The price is high for a reason.
While expensive, Disney Cruise line is possible the best Cruise I have gone on. Not only is it great for the little kids, it is amazing for the teenagers and adults too. Their ships are beautiful and so clean. The food is amazing. I would go for every family vacation if I could afford it.
I think there’s high expecrations for anything Disney. Of course the magic was there and customer service was impeccable. It always is!! But just like everything else Disney the wallet hurts a little afterwards!
The absolute best cruise line but expensive.
Kenneth ( I prefer to go by GENE) Mann
Best experience after 5 cruises. Fantastic food.Lots to do. Great Shows.Great staff..
I've never been on Disney Cruise Line - but my friends told me that it is so much fun and they never want to leave!
We have traveled on different cruise lines but this is my favorite cruise line because of the quality of entertainment as well as better food and customer service. It is more expensive but so well worth it!
I have friends who have said Disney Cruise Line is so much fun and they wish they could have stayed there for longer. I want to go soon!
My family loved when we went to this cruise! They have great hospitality and great food and entertainment
Sailed once on Disney with my children and grandchildren. We loved it. Good food and good service. The shows were spectacular.
Disney Cruise Line was an amazing experience and was fun for the whole family. There were many fun activities for everyone.
Best food and entertainment ever! It was magical for my girls!
Disney is so great! So many activities for kids and adults can have a blast too!
Our family had a great time on our Disney Cruise. They ship was clean and beautiful, the food and entertainment were great, and the ports of call were lovely. We especially enjoyed the day at Disney's own island in the Caribbean because the beach wasn't crowded and it was beautiful. It is especially catered to families with children.
Disney knows how to cruise. Everything on our trip was absolutely flawless! I would 100% recommend cruising with them. The ships are gorgeous, the staff is hilarious and kind, the activities on the ship are fun for young and old, and the food was lovely. The only con is how expensive they are.
