Zoho is a CRM system that helps users manage their sales revenue and sales teams, as well as increase customer relationships. Zoho is loaded with numerous features that can help any company start, equip, and grow their business. 

Zoho CRM is a part of Zoho’s suite of online collaboration, business, and productivity applications. Users will be able to access Zoho CRM by using their common account for all Zoho Services.

Zoho CRM offers multiple pricing options. Each pricing option offers different features, storage capacity, and customizable options. 

  • Free Edition — Includes 3 free users
  • Standard Edition — $12 per user per month (billed annually)
  • Professional Edition — $20 per user per month (billed annually)
  • Enterprise Edition — $35 per user per month (billed annually)
  • Ultimate Edition — $100 per user per month (available only in yearly subscription)

15-Day Fully Featured Trial

For those who are on the fence, Zoho allows users to sign up for a 15-day fully-featured trial that allows users to test out all the features that CRM software has to offer.

Pay-As-You-Go Service

Zoho doesn’t bind users to any contracts or commitments. Zoho is a pay-as-you-go service — meaning users pay monthly or yearly — allowing users to make changes to their accounts whenever they need to.

The Bad

Usage Limits

Zoho will prescribe usage limits based on the chosen subscription plan. Users will have to stay within their usage limits advocated by Zoho, otherwise, Zoho may restrict the activity.

Limitations on Free Edition

There are several drawbacks to using the free edition of Zoho CRM. The free edition doesn't offer a lot of options for customization of the CRM to the needs of the business. If a user wants to add custom reports, customized functions, and additional modules, they will need to purchase a more expensive edition.

The Bottom Line

Zoho is a software system that specializes in business productivity apps to help users to be better connected to their customers. Multiple pricing options and simple integration with other apps allow the users to be more organized and prepared on the go; however, even though free edition might be an incentive to choose Zoho CRM system, users soon will find that limitations to customer support and customization features might not be worth it.

Zoho is a fascinating frankenstein of a product that clearly started as a few specific tools (I used it ages ago for a down detector for my employer’s website), and has bridged the gap between those tools to build platforms - including this CRM. Zoho is a more affordable option for a CRM than a Hubspot or a Salesforce, but you do have to forgo some of the features and roadmap of those bigger players as Zoho is clearly still growing and evolving their product. Get in to one of their product research sessions though - they’re very receptive to feedback.

Zoho is a very low cost of entry and is perfect when you are just getting started on their free version. But as you grow it grows with you. For any business, their zoho one suite is a no-brainer, with CRM, books, help desk, sign and more. This CRM does everything I've ever needed one to do and more. I'll stay away from the excessive SFDC and stick with Zoho

I use Zoho for work and feel like it is not a very good tool- but unfortunately is the best I can find. While there are some options to customize, it is a far way from entirely customizable. There are a lot of options that you can’t get rid of. Their email and communication system is garbage and onboarding is complicated. That being said- good like trying to find something better.
