We found that they were a different company, Smoliak, in 1966 and rebranded as Best Buy in 1983 to become a consumer electronics store. They have several locations and subsidiaries throughout North America and the rest of the world. Best Buy offers a wide array of products to its customers, including one of the largest arrays of cell phones, including AT&T, T-Mobile, and many more.
We liked the Geek Squad approach to customer service. In this medium, we found one of the most robust customer service platforms in the industry. Geek Squad is an owned subsidiary of Best Buy. In addition to providing customer service at every Best Buy store, customers can also get support 24/7 online or over the phone. Best Buy sells support packages with each item that is sold in a store. Geek Squad has a "lemon" policy.
If your product requires three repairs during the life of your service plan, the Geek Squad will turn your lemons into lemonade by replacing the product with a similar model if your model is no longer manufactured.
Here are some other things that we liked about Best Buy:
Best Buy also had a wide variety of "wearable technology" available. These included sports training aids, sports watches, and activity monitors and pedometers. Some of the companies in the industry lacked the number of items from Best Buy. Best Buy also carried home assistive technology, items ranging from phones to computers that helped those in need live easier at home.
The in-store experience with Best Buy often leaves something to be desired. Some reviews online, as well as a recent Forbes article, listed this as one of the reasons Best Buy often struggles to keep customers in the store. The Forbes article commented on the typical customer experience at Best Buy. Often, a customer walking into a store for self-service (to purchase the items they know they need) will receive an experience pressuring them to buy more things. This was a trend in some of the reviews we read about Best Buy online.
One 2014 customer complaint involved the purchase of an Apple MacBook Pro from a store. The customer found the 2012 model sticker on the inside of their computer, contacted Apple, and was told that they had purchased an "old-stock" computer. The inventories of some brands in stores are often older models that Best Buy has purchased in stock.
One customer also had purchased a $450 computer, according to a complaint, and it was not working after the 15-day Return and Exchange Promise. The customer was advised to go to the manufacturer or purchase a Geek Squad plan. Electronics are expensive investments, and consumers should have access to the best product available.
Best Buy's Geek Squad does not have pricing listed on its website. In order to get a price, you must get a quote. Also, we found that liquid spills require a special plan, the Advanced Geek Squad Protection Plan with Accidental Damage from Handling. For high-dollar items, the Advanced Protection Plan becomes a necessity.

Easy to find what I need or find help finding what I need. Helpful find items at other stores. Price match is on point.
We will choose to go to Best Buy over other stores because they always have what we need and someone who knows how to answer our questions. The only complaint I have is that we sometimes have to wait a while for someone to help us because they are so busy. We have had a good track record with the products we have bought at Best Buy and they stand by their warranties.
I love that I can order items I need online and within an hour pick them up at the store nearby. Such a time saver!
Great shop sad to see so many closing. Nice people
I like the deals they offer students. It really helped us in purchasing computers for our kids.
I purchased my laptop from Best Buy and they really helped me out when I was deciding on which one to get. Their customer service is pretty good. I just wish their prices weren't as high.
I shop at Best Buy often. Obviously they sell their products at MSRP which is typically expensive, but they often have good promotions that slash their product prices by considerable margins.
I love going in to look around, but at this point I would probably buy from Amazon. hard to compete with Amazon's prices.
I usually don't find them to be the least expensive but they do a lot of price matching which can be helpful! I just don't find their selection to be the greatest in store...
In my experience, Best Buy cant be beat for customer service and their price matching policy. They even helped me locate a competitors ad so I could price match. They are always helpful and patient with my lack of technical abilities!
These guys have every new electrical gadget you need. Their sales people have a lot of knowledge about the products they do offer.
Helped my daughter buy her first laptop here. They were very kind to her and made the process very easy on her. Great customer service and generosity! Prices are awesome too!
I got a screen protector for my phone here everyone was super helpful and trying to get me the best deal for my money
I bought my laptop here and had a great experience. I didn't feel like they were trying to upsell me or anything like that. They were genuinely interested in what I was looking for and they helped me to find it without being pushy. Great company.
I always enjoy going to best buy, even If I am just looking around the store. Very good environment to be in and to shop in.
It was good. My only complaint is that they now charge for their TV recycling program, but they still advertise that it is free... Otherwise it was a pleasant experience .
Nice place to shop! The Geek Squad is very helpful when you need to try to fix a problem with one of their products. The sales staff are friendly and helpful.
Employees are always extremely helpful and well informed about the products and what else is available.
Be careful of the advise you get from these guys. They don't always know what they are talking about. Prices are average.
The customer service is great. I can usually find what I am looking for. They do price match which is nice because their regular prices are a bit steep.
I don't buy much at bestbuy, but the times I have, I've always found what I needed and the employees were very helpful.
Just need to stock more gaming system need to advertise a lol more
Everytime I go in there I have multiple employee's come and ask me if I am finding everything. I have liked all of the products I have bought there for my family and friends. Once I took my laptop into their shop and the geek squad helped me fix my blue screen. Great help and service.
I bought a chromebook one day from here. The experience was good and really simple. Nothing crazy or disastrous. I just went in, grabbed the laptop, bought it and came home. Thumb ups.
Very expensive but has a wide selection. You can get almost everything need. From TVs to dish washer you will find what you need.
The employees are very educated on products and are helpful. They have a wide variety of items so you are bound to find what is right for you. However, the products here are often more money than other stores. I have found the exact same products at other stores for much cheaper.
I've always found what I needed at Best Buy. I like their credit card and I also like that they offer "open box" products. I bought an ipad from Best Buy once and I was having trouble with it. They wanted me to pay $90 to have it looked at when I could just take it to the apple store for free. Their geek squad services are unreasonably priced in my opinion.
Oh how we love best buy! Most all of our electronics are from there. Their prices aren’t inherently the cheapest- but if you wait for a sale or know exactly what you want- they are a great option. Having the Geek Squad protection and warranty give me a peace of mind. Customer service has always been helpful and understanding as well. We love best buy!
Purchase our cell phones & laptops from Best Buy and have had positive experiences. The staff seem to know the products well and provide efficient customer service.
Best Buy has so many options from large and small electronics, to appliances large and small. The prices are very competitive, and they have great financing options. Customer service there is always superb.
I love Best Buy! They are a little expensive, but their employees really know what they are talking about. I buy all my electronics here.
Best Buy is honestly way overpriced. I only shop here when there is big sales going on. The customer service is alright, the employees will walk by asking how you are, but barely stick around to actually help you unless you chase them down. When there are sales though, they do have some of the best prices and you can usually find stuff here that you can't in a lot of other places.
I love this place. When I bought my Xbox a while back, I got a great deal from them. They also helped me pick out a better wireless router that could handle all of my internet traffic.
i recently upgraded phones for our at&t service, the people were nice but not very knowledgeable. i ended up at the at&t store after wasting over an hour at best buy.
If I need to find a piece of technology I tend to go to Best Buy. They have many locations throughout the US and they carry the same items. I am able to search for what I need and ask questions and for the most part the employees are able to answer my questions about the quality of the product. I do to Best Buy to see the item in person and then sometimes check on Amazon for cheaper prices because the prices in the store are more expensive.
It makes me sad when I hear about stores like Best Buy are more or less losing business due to the growing popularity of online shopping. While I will not ignore the convenience of online shopping, stores like Best Buy are the best! You can find almost anything you want or need when it comes to technology in that place. Plus, if you any kind of question about a product you wish to purchase the employees I've found are always incredibly helpful. If you have a Best Buy near you I would highly recommend that you pay a visit if you're in the market for any sort of technology.
I have never had any issues with Best Buy, although I don't use their online customer support, the in store employees have always been able to answer and fix and questions or issues I may have with their products.
They can only handle one customer at the time, only knowledgeable about one thing, poorly trained unproductive professionals.
