In order to maintain and report the most current information, the Review Team periodically audits their reviews and updates information. At the last of such reviews in July, 2016, the Review Team found this statement from Bitcasa:

However, there remain pages on their site about their personal backup and storage solutions. The links to subscribe to these plans result in server timeouts. As is the case in these situations, the Review Team leaves a company’s review up with the last known information published, but the Overall Score reflects that they are no longer servicing customers.
Bitcasa uses continuous backups. Customers must designate the files which they want backed up and perform an initial large backup seeding. After this file is securely in the cloud, Bitcase software runs in the background and when any of the files which is already in the backup storage is changed, the software performs an incremental backup.
Bitcasa allows their Premium and Pro subscribers to share files securely. Bitcasa subscribers can share files with their friends via email or social media. Bitcasa offers the additional protection of passwords to access shared files.
Bitcasa encrypts all of their customer's files before they are transmitted to the location-specific server with 256-bit encryption. This is the same encryption used by banks and other financial institutions.
Bitcasa offers a free 60 day trial for their users. This trial includes 5GB of storage, automatic backup, and licenses for 3 different devices.
Because of the website's server errors on registration pages, the Review Team is unable to sign up for a free trial to test features or to report if a credit card is required to sign up for the free version.
In addition to the free trial, Bitcasa offers 2 paid plans - the Premium and Pro. Originally, Bitcasa offered unlimited storage, but changed their plans to have storage limits in 2014. Plans are differentiated by the amount of storage they offer; all other features are identical for the Premium and Pro plans.

There is not enough information about the specifics of the plans for the Review Team to determine if Bitcasa stores previously-saved backup versions of files, and if so how many are saved and for how long.
Users report that Bitcasa's web and mobile interfaces are very user-friendly and that the mobile apps allow them to share, stream and view their files.
Bitcasa's customer support is an area which needs some improvement to be ranked with the top-performing providers. There are reports of customers waiting for weeks to receive answers to questions, and the company does not offer support for prospective customers.
Unlike many of their competitors, Bitcasa does not offer additional features like remote location or data wiping if a device is lost or stolen.
