Fiix Software was started in 2008 in Toronto, California as a simple software solution to the complex problem of maintenance management. The computerized maintenance management system (CMMS) is cloud based and handles asset management, maintenance, work order maintenance, parts and supplies management, and reporting. Fiix’s customer base includes very small businesses up to large companies. The company was sold to Rockwell Animation in 2020.
Fiix has a free plan that offers limited capabilities, with beginning paid packages starting at $40 and up, depending on services and customization. This provides flexibility and accessibility to even the smallest company budget.
The company offers implementation and training packages, with different fees depending on the amount of time needed. There is also a forum, “The Fixxers Community,” where customers can ask questions, share tips, and network with other maintainers. This is a great resource to learn from others and to be fully educated on how to use the software effectively, especially for customers who are not particularly tech savvy.
Fiix Software is one of the only CMMS systems that is completely cloud based, which makes syncing information between departments and locations much easier and quicker. There is also a mobile app, so data can be accessed on the go, compared to only being available via desktop. Limble is also cloud based and provides perhaps more extensive reporting functions than Fiix.
Set-up and daily entries on the software can be tiresome and tedious for some customers. There is no option for a copy and paste for actual asset items, and this can be inconvenient. Other systems, like UpKeep, have a free 14-day trial, so comparing systems before signing up for the full package, may be worthwhile. Limble also has a 30-day trial, but has a higher monthly cost.
The hours for customer service are not 24/7, and customers have to pay for initial and ongoing services for training.
While it helps you keep track and pay for all of your assets and needed maintenance, Fiix cannot bill or invoice clients. By contrast, eMaint does offer billing/invoicing functionality, for relatively the same cost. If this feature is important, customers should consider which best meets the needs of the organization.
