The Good

Dillard’s get a huge thumbs-up for an amazingly elegant yet simplistic website. Everything is a bit mellow, allowing customers to immediately locate the section of children’s clothing they are searching for. In addition to online and in store purchases, catalogs can be requested for phone orders or mailed in order forms. The website features side columns that allow visitors to search by category, and category. The center of the website displays clickable pictures of various categories by size. Very easy to find that perfect child’s clothing item, with minimal searching.

Pricing seems to be in the moderate-moderate high category. For items listed, the price appears to reflect average and fair prices.

Outstanding, personable customer service experienced through the phone service line. Reps are known to be polite and courteous, with the goal of quickly resolving any issue or complaint.

The Bad

Dillard’s caters to shoppers that are looking for name brands. When searching through their website you will notice that featured brands are displayed prominently in their browser. If you are looking for deals or generic brands at cheaper prices Dillard’s is not the place to look.

In addition to strongly advertising name brands Dillard’s also caters more to certain demographics than others. Their website is geared toward a female audience. Children’s and men clothing can be found on the website but women’s apparel and products are what is mostly pushed on the customer that visits the Dillard’s site.

The Bottom Line

Casual yet effective website: check. Moderately-high yet standard prices: check. No negative points: check. Dillard’s seems to be an overall winner in our book. Courteous and prompt customer service, easy return processes, with brick and mortar stores coast to coast. Three things to sum up Dillard’s: easy-breezy, sophisticated and the everyday store. Run out to your nearest Dillard’s for your next children’s clothing purchases, or do some ‘net shopping.
