Turo is scam. As a host, I purchased the highest tier insurance to cover my car (BMW M4). During the rental, apparently 5 lug bolts become untorqued and backed their selves out. The rim and tire come off of the vehicle while driving. Turo blamed me for not maintaining the vehicle. This is after the renter had the vehicle for 4 days and drove over 300 miles on rims and tires I had been using the past year. BMW stated lug bolts are not a maintable part.

The platform is good until something goes wrong. As an owner of a small fleet I liked the idea of having the peace of mind of having a large company (Turo and Liberty Mutual) backing me up. Then I experienced my first claim with a total loss of a car and that peace of mind was gone. Turo passes things off to DMA and then you're on your own. After months of trying to settle the claim, no support from DMA, and Turo passing the buck back to DMA each time I ask for help, I still have no resolution in sight...

I was on a chat for almost an hour and it took 3 agents and they didn't even take care of the problem! They blamed my credit card co for declining ,which they did at 1 st but after speaking w CC co and making sure it was approved Turo kept declining it . I resolved the issue by using another credit card . Customer service was OF NO HELP ! Was offered no compensation for my (as the agent described it) "huge inconvience". They assumed NO responsibility !

They never allowed me to verify my account. I don't know if it because I'm young or because I'm not American, but clearly they didn't want me driving their cars. But instead of telling me that, they started asking for an ever-growing amount of pictures and documents every time, and every time more ridiculous. Even now that they have more personal information about me than Google, they refuse to accept me, and even to reject me, and just keep lying to my face, saying they are "working on it" and that it is "urgent". I've had enough; nothing "urgent" takes weeks.

The app might be not bad but poor architecture design. Does not allow to have car classes so if you have more then few cars its nightmare to manage the fleet availability and pricing. Also Turo has ugly approach to the hosts. We worked with them over 1 year and then they have asked us to change our account just because we have 4.5 stars reviews while some of those negative reviews concerns to Turo rules themselves rather then our problems. They are bad and not trustworthy partners to do business.

Horrible app, horrible service. I downloaded the app, signed into a new account. When I tried to rent a car, they declined my account. When I did chat with a rep. she asked me for my last 7 years of driving record, proof of insurance, my photo holding my drivers license, photo of the card I used to pay, etc...This is just madness. Again, horrible service.

I msged customer service and wanted to delete my account after, I was disgusted at the representative, they provided no help or anything, then my host canceled my ride randomly! I was not given a comparable car like any other business would like stubhub or Ticketmaster when tickets get canceled last minute, I ended up paying 3 times more for a worse car. I hated everything about my experience here and will definitely NOT be back

The process of picking up the car was easy. The car was beautiful. During the week that we rented there was a minor fender bender possibly in a parking lot with damage to the bumper. It has ended up costing $3,000 and the money immediately taken from our credit card. We have insurance with a high deductible . We will now need to scramble to get funds reimbursed. NEVER AGAIN

Thy DON’T have a insurance . a young guy drove my 2015 Mustang ended up in an accident damage cost 17k . i have a police report. garage report even the driver admitted that the had an accident . Turo still denying the claim the reason is i didn’t take enough pics before the trip. me and my lawyer working together now to put them down. i’m taking this to the court and social media

I was rear ended by a Turo driver on the 405 in LA . The driver stated she had insurance, however Geico is refusing to pay since it was a Turo rental. Turo is insured by Liberty Mutual and they are refusing to pay since they state Geico should pay; I have had very little help from Turo. Do not get hit by a Turo rental car as the Insurance companies do not want to pay. Turo is not helpful. How they are allowed to do business in California I have no idea. I will be writing the Insurance Commissioner.

When I rented a vehicle from Turo, another driver WITH insurance hit the car when I wasn't even in it and Turo charged me over $700, then refunded it. Now they are taking me to collections for that $700 again because the other driver's insurance cannot get in contact with their customer and they won't claim responsibility. I would NOT recommend Turo to my worst enemy.

I rented a car using Turo in San Francisco. I will NEVER use Turo again. I was charged a fine for not vacuuming the car out even though Turo's own policy says that the renter can't be charged for a small amount of crumbs in the car that can easily be vacuumed out. Beware of the fine print when renting from Turo and I would advise against using them.

This poorly qualified company spent an hour of my time attempting to refund a charge that was not in the Turo System. Turo charged me 45 dollars on August 8th. The specialist stated that he was going to escalate the ticket and is requesting information that was already given. I spent an hour of my time trying to rectify this that was in no way my fault or my doing. I requested compensation for my time, which is valuable, but he did not give compensation. Turo is terrible and will not be using them again.

I recently had rented a car through Turo. Due to unforeseen circumstances, I had to cancel. I reached out to the owner of the car to let him know, as well as Turo, and explained everything. While the owner said he would authorize a full refund, I have yet to hear a word from Turo. I have tried emailing several different time, all with not even an acknowledgment. This doesn't exactly make me want to rent from them again.

Turo charged me for an alleged toll that I owed while driving one of their cars. They refused to send me proof of the toll, yet charged me when I asked for proof. The representative that I spoke to was very rude and hung up when I asked to speak with a manager. I have never been hung up on and I wasn’t cursing or yelling just asking for a manager. Some of the worse customer service I’ve experienced and I will never use their services again. I’d rather use a reputable company like enterprise or hertz for my next trip requiring a rental vehicle!!!!

WAS HARASSED BY OWNER OF CAR UPON PICK UP! OWNER LIED AND SAID CANNOT PICK UP AT LAX AS SAID ON RENTAL APP! INSTEAD MADE ME TAKE UBER TO DARK PARKING GARAGE WHERE HE HARASSED ME!! I LEFT WITH CAR AND PARKED IT GOR THE ENTIRE TRIP AS TURO INSTRUCTED ME TO DO! THEY REFUNDED CHARGES ONLY TO CHARGE MY CARD 3 MONTHS LATER FOR MORE THEN THR RENTAL SAYING I DUDNT RETURN THE CAR!!!! Haven't even been able to take advantage of service. I contacted customer support via email, and was told I would be responded to within one day. That didn't happen. I tried calling, and was put on hold twice, and when the "waiting music" stopped, there was nobody speaking. There was just a phone disconnection. This happened twice. I wanted to know what happens if a vehicle breaks down. If this is the level of service you are getting, why would you trust them when you are on the side of the road if the car you rent breaks down?

Invested lots of time shopping for the right car and scheduling my pickup only to be told I couldn’t use the app for no reason. Right before my engagement trip, I had to deal with that crap and I didn’t get any service. By the time they did this, it was too late to get a nice car elsewhere I complained and they were unwilling to help. Not right, man. Don’t work with these people.
