Toyota Motor Corporation was founded in 1937 in Japan and has grown to be one of the largest automakers in the world.
With a wide variety of vehicle options, including sub-compacts, minivans, sedans, pickup truck, crossovers, and SUVs, the company maintains its emphasis on building reliable cars. Many of these are built in the US, with 10 of the company’s 14 manufacturing and production plants located in the country.
With roughly 1,500 Toyota dealerships in the US, 2.4 million cars and trucks were sold last year. The automaker’s best-selling model is the Corolla, which has been made since 1996 and has sold over 40 million units worldwide.
Toyota has a reputation for dependability and ranks among the top third of auto companies in the latest JD Power dependability study. On top of that, according to the company, about “85 percent of all Toyota vehicles sold in the last fifteen years are still on the road today.” That is a huge percentage on top of the impressive reliability score.
With this reputation for reliability, the company has been included in Fortune’s list of the World’s Most Admired Companies four years in a row as the top-ranked motor vehicle company.
Toyota makes sedans like the company’s best-selling model, the Corolla. A customer can also buy a pickup truck, SUV, or crossover.
With Toyota, there are also plenty of fuel-efficient models you can choose from, including a full-size hybrid Highlander SUV or a RAV 4 hybrid crossover.
As the world’s largest manufacturer of hybrids, the company's flagship model, the Prius was introduced in 1997 and is the world’s best-selling hybrid. Additionally, the Toyota Mirai is the world’s best-selling hydrogen fuel cell car.
Toyota vehicles are competitively priced. With Toyota, you can buy the following brand new models for under $25,000:
This Japanese automaker puts an emphasis on driving safety. Every year, the US National Highway Traffic Safety Administration rates vehicle safety. Since 2014, the company has received an overall rating of five stars for over ten of their new models tested.
Thousands of Toyota vehicles have been affected by issues with Takata airbags. The Takata recall is the biggest auto recall in history, affecting many car makers, not just Toyota.

Our family has driven a Toyota truck before and it was a good quality vehicle. The durability and style was nice. We had the smaller sized truck for convenience and the gas mileage.
Our family had a Toyota for a long time and it ran well for well over a hundred thousand miles and through several small accidents. It was very dependable.
My family has had Toyota vehicles over the years (Sienna, Tundra). Each time we get a new truck we always get a new model of Tundra. I recently sold my Sienna and miss it very much. The features in the van were exactly what a busy family needed.
A solid company that always gives you what you need and it’s always durable and for affordable prices.
I currently have a Toyota Highlander and love it. It is a Hybrid and I love everything about it, the look the room, the performance, the gas mileage, and the no problems. It isn't my first Toyota, and it won't be my last.
We had a Toyota truck and it was very reliable and lasted a long time. We rarely had any problems with it and would buy another one in a heart beat!
We own a Toyota 4runner and have put over 100,000 on it. We've hardly had any issues at all with the car while living here in Utah. The weather gets bad so I like the Toyota brand because they are very dependable. This is our second Toyota Car we've owned and I trust the name.
We have had 5 Toyota vehicles over the years and we always see ourselves coming back. We have NEVER had an expensive repair and regular maintenance keeps them running great. I have recommended Toyota to many of my friends and I will continue to do so. The quality of vehicle for the price is amazing compared to other auto makers.
I have been a Toyota truck driver since 2003. Over 15 years of driving their trucks and I am still impressed. The durability and reliability of their vehicles is why I keep coming back.
We purchased a Toyota Sienna Van in January 1999, and we are still driving it! it has been the primary vehicle for my wife and 6 children. We have driven it cross country and up into the mountains for camping. This is the best vehicle we have ever owned. The only downside is the Dealership maintenance cost are very high, and any repairs at the dealership are very high also.
Our Sequoia Toyota has been a great investment. We have had it for ten years and it still works great! We love our Toyota because it is designed with so much leg room. It is a great family car and especially great for all of our road trips!
I bought a Toyota for my son and he has driven it for years. It has been efficient and reliable! I love Toyota cars. I would buy one every time.
I have owned a Toyota for several years now and have always been impressed with how well my car holds up. Great cars for a great price.
I have driven a Toyota 4-runner for the past year. All three of my other siblings have used it as well. It has been a reliable car, and has almost 200000 miles.
Our Toyota Tundra has been so reliable-very comfortable ride and has been exactly what we have needed for construction purposes.
I own 2 Toyotas. A Toyota Sequoia and Toyota 4 Runner. I have reached 200, 000 miles on both of those cars and only occasionally have they had problems. My husband had a Mercedes and a BMW. Both cars were in the repair shop more often than my Toyotas. These cars never die!
I have had my Toyota sequoia forever. The fact that I have had it this long shows how durable these cars are. Perfect for messy kids. Breaks down very rarely/ hardly ever have to bring it into the shop. Don't love the car because of the bad gas milage. But I would buy from Toyota again if it was a newer car.
Very very good! Great price, delivered exactly as promised.
I now have my third Toyota and love it. My first one was purchased in 2006 - a 2006 Toyata Sienna. I drove it for ten years and it had well over 100,000 miles when I sold it to a family member. That was three years ago and it is still going strong. Since then, I purchased two different Toyota Highlanders and have loved them both - neither have had any major problems and Toyota Service Centers are very easy to work with.
it's always been great. The cars are reliable and need very little service and maintenance. They could improve by redesigning their care more often. I have a 3 yr. old Rave4 and the new Rave 4 look just like mine.
I drive a Sequoia and love it! I love the captains chairs in the middle row so my big dog can walk around. My Toyota is always reliable and has no problem fitting my kids, a few friends, and all their stuff in the trunk.
Very reliableplus excellent customer service. They could improve by making them more affordable
My experience has been wonderful from all Toyota's I have purchased. They are a very dependable, The Customer Service Representatives are excellent! I have always had Toyota's and the mileage has been 275,000 & 350,000 miles. Their dependable, comfortable, easy to service.
Excellent, I have never owned a car that was inferior.
love the rav4 and prius, dependable well made cars; have owned several toyotas over the years
Toyota cars have been very reliable for my family, we prefer them better than others.
We own two Toyota's: a 2014 Prius and a 2001 Tacoma. Both vehicles have been extremely reliable and inexpensive to run.
Great company, the vehicles are wonderful drive well and last forever.
wiring on this car is literally rabbit food, company will not take responsibility for soy wiring
They have been great from sales to service. Really busy, though and long wait times for service.
Very good, nice dealerships, reliable cars, salespersons could have better product knowledge.
I love toyota. Both my parents own toyota. They last forever and parts are reasonably priced
I have had very good experiences with my Toyota dealer, and with my car. It's reliable, pretty and comfortable.
I enjoy my car. I just wish that more was covered on the warranty
Watch the little details. The electronics are far behind the others, for example, no Apple CarPlay yet. The new cupholders are abysmal, the drinks tip over when I turn a corner. And the radical changes made to Lexus should be left out of the Toyota models. For example, the obnoxious "growling" ferocious grill is overkill. It detracts from the cars.
They answer questions fix it right the first time
We have had several Toyota autos and the vehicles performed excellent
Good, more corrosion resistance and more technology
Toyota's are great cars, they run forever. I might like the hyundai better though
The great customer service and listening to what you want, instead of pushing some vehicle of their choice on you.
Great! Very courteous! Clean facility. Offer great incentives on a new car!
Poor customer service. The service writers act as if you owe them something and its a problem to service only the basic kn hour car. I purchased the extended coverage at time of sell which i was told would even cover my lost keys bjt didnt receive paperwork as who to call with a number on it, just a brochure. I lost my key and nobody can help me. The salesman lied from the beginning of the sell. This is the worst experience ever. The 45k+ car has wind noise and other issues but its all normal after a few miles. Thats absurd.
Maintenance service is excellent. Easy to schedule.
Auto Nation Buford Ga they are so helpful i do think they need to gibe more for trafe ins lol
Excellent quality, priced right reliability is why I love Toyata brand. I have been a life long customer of Toyota. I also own ir have owned BMW, Porsche, Nissan and Subaru plus GM Chevy brands.
This is a great car that is loaded with features. I have owned 4 Toyota Prius and the Prime AD is the best to date.
On my third Prius. Minimum maintenance, great mileage (51mpg), good ride.
Excellent experience. Great quality and customer service.
Ever since 1972-73 when the U. S, was in a gas crunch, Toyota provided cars that helped save gas with more miles per gallon. As a result we have always had a Toyota car.
Have been buying Toyotas for 30 years and am impressed with their performance and long life
