Toyota is a trusted and well-known brand in the automobile industry. Toyota Motor Corporation was founded in 1937 in Japan and has grown to be one of the largest automakers in the world. Toyota’s mission is to manufacture reliable vehicles that result in a fulfilled ownership experience.
With a wide variety of vehicle options, including sub-compacts, minivans, sedans, pickup trucks, crossovers, and SUVs, the company maintains its emphasis on building reliable cars. Many of these are built in the United States, with 10 of the company’s 14 manufacturing and production plants located in the country. With roughly 1,500 Toyota dealerships in the US, 2.4 million cars and trucks were sold last year.
Toyota has a reputation for dependability and ranks among the top third of auto companies in the latest JD Power dependability study. On top of that, according to the company, approximately “85% of all Toyota vehicles sold in the last fifteen years are still on the road today.” That is a huge percentage, on top of the impressive reliability score.
With this reputation for reliability, the company has been included in Fortune’s list of the World’s Most Admired Companies four years in a row as the top-ranked motor vehicle company.
Toyota makes sedans, like the company’s best-selling model, the Corolla. A customer can also buy a pickup truck, SUV, or crossovers. With Toyota, there are plenty of fuel-efficient models you can choose from, including a full-size hybrid Highlander SUV or a RAV 4 hybrid crossover. As the world’s largest manufacturer of hybrids, their flagship model, the Toyota Prius is the world’s best-selling hybrid. Additionally, the Toyota Mirai is the world’s best-selling hydrogen fuel cell car.
Toyota offers AWD upgrades to give you more peace of mind during winter weather conditions or off-road excursions. AWD improves vehicle handling to give you more control behind the wheel. With dynamic torque control, Toyota AWD vehicles diffuse torque between the rear and front axles. This is an exclusive feature specifically designed for Toyota vehicles.
AWD is available on select vehicles including the Toyota Prius, Toyota Sienna, Toyota Tacoma, Toyota Tundra, Toyota RAV4, Toyota Highlander, Toyota 4Runner, Toyota Sequoia, and Toyota Land Cruiser. AWD comes on many trim level upgrades.
If you are a consumer worried about environmental safety, Toyota is the car company for you. Toyota has an environmental challenge set to be accomplished by 2050. Already offering hybrid vehicle options, Toyota hopes to reduce its fleets' carbon emissions and create a clear production process. This challenge includes six parts:
This environmental initiative influences the innovation and engineering used to create vehicles that are better for the environment. We will continue to see vehicles with better fuel economy and fewer emissions.
Toyota vehicles are competitively priced. With Toyota, you can buy the following brand new models for under $25,000:
Toyota vehicles are known for holding their value even after years of driving. According to Kelly Blue Book, the new Toyota Tacoma is projected to have the highest resale value in the next five years. Other new cars with high resale values include the Toyota 4Runner and the Toyota Tundra. Toyota’s high resale values come from the long-established trust built with consumers. Toyota car models with 200,000–400,000 miles are still on the road today. High resale value is not an advantage you will find with all car brands.

Toyota is home to the best-selling car model in world history: the Toyota Corolla. The Toyota Corolla is a dependable sedan that features hybrid options for improved fuel efficiency and decreased carbon emissions. Toyota also offers a Corolla Hatchback version for increased cargo space. This year, the Corolla was named “2020 Green Car of the Year” by Green Car Journal.
Toyota has sold over 44 million models since the Corolla debut in 1966. In fact, approximately one Toyota Corolla is sold every 15 seconds worldwide. That’s about four Corollas per minute. Holding the title for the best selling car model confirms Toyota’s ability to make cars that are versatile, reliable, and timeless.
The Toyota Prius is the best-selling hybrid vehicle worldwide. Overcoming many technical and engineering obstacles, Toyota launched the Toyota Prius in late 1997. Toyota was not the first company to come up with a hybrid or electric motor idea. However, Toyota’s commitment to innovation and excellence led them to be the first car company to mass-produce a hybrid vehicle.
Since its first introduction, the Toyota Prius has been improved and modified to the point that new models get a fuel economy of 53 to 58 mpg. That is a lot of money saved on gas every year, especially for people with long commutes. You can also purchase the Toyota Prius Prime allowing you to charge your vehicle to improve your EV mode range. Toyota continues to innovate, bringing you cars that will save you money and protect you while driving.
This Japanese automaker puts an emphasis on driving safety. Every year, the US National Highway Traffic Safety Administration rates vehicle safety. Since 2014, the company has received an overall rating of 5 stars for over ten of its new models tested. Toyota vehicles have standard safety features including airbags, seatbelts, electronic stability control, and child safety seats. Toyota also has additional safety features installed in its vehicles. Toyota Safety Sense™ comes standard on many of the new models being released this year. This safety technology includes the following features:
Some of these features are available through other car brands such as Subaru and Hyundai. According to IIHS, Toyota has three models in the top 23 safest vehicles of 2020. Toyota vehicles stay competitive with other top car brands for the best safety features.
Thousands of Toyota vehicles have been affected by issues with Takata airbags. The Takata recall is the biggest auto recall in history, affecting many car makers, not just Toyota. Newer Toyota models will not have the Takata recalled airbags. You only need to be worried about this recall if you are buying a used vehicle.

Great service at most dealerships I have been to. Can not beat a Toyota’s realizability.
I have been driving a 2007 Toyota Camry since 2007, and it is an absolute champ! With over 155,000 miles, I am impressed with the quality of an experience I have every time I drive!
I currently drive a Toyota Prius. I enjoy this car because of the great gas mileage and sleek appearance.
My first car was a Toyota. It was very reliable and lasted a long time with normal maintenance. I will purchase more Toyota vehicles.
I have owned two Toyota vehicles and both have been excellent vehicles compared to the many other car's I have owned. The maintenance and reliability has been superior over all other cars I have owned.
I have always loved my Toyota cars. They last forever and I never have to worry about them breaking down.
Toyota will last a long time, but your standard features are lacking, and they are terrible with gas mileage
We bought a Toyota Camry with 300,000 miles on it and it kept going. We used it for a year before we sold it. It still worked when we sold it but it was leaking oil.
One of the few wonderful car companies left. Their customer care is superior to any other car brand I've ever worked with. These cars last forever!
I’ve owned 3 Toyota’s in my lifetime and all have been good cars. My first was a Toyota Tercel That was the first car I ever bought and I loved it so much. My next car was a wagon. My family was getting bigger but we learned that they we’re discontinuing it, a Corona wagon. So we realized that parts were going to be difficult to get. We decided to trade it in on a new Toyota. The last was a Camry that I totally loved. It was such a great car so super for zipping around town. It was my car. My husband had a truck by then and I had the Camry. It was beautiful both inside and out. All three Toyota’s ran beautifully and if I ever needed anything the service department was always there to meet my needs. We bought all our Toyota’s in Riverside, California.
We love our camry. We've been a camry owner for for over 15 years, and our the quality of Toyota, especially the Camry, is top of its class!
I have owned a Toyota Tacoma and Toyota Camry and they are both solid cars that have great resale value
My second car ever was a Toyota Camry and it has lasted through my family for 12 years! We love Toyota and how dependable the cars are.
I don’t think there is a more reliable car brand then Toyota. These cars go forever! And they hold their value like no other. We have owned 4 Prius’s over the past 15 years abs they truly are one of the best cars.
We bought a Toyota Rav4, which has been a very reliable car for us. It is functional and stylish and I love the safety of having my family in a Toyota.
Our Sienna has served our family for many years. Toyotas are so reliable and ours seems to be able to last forever.
I've been driving my Sienna minivan for almost 10 years. It's reliable and has everything I need for my family. I love that I can drop the seats in the back and fit larger boxes or cargo. Love the sliding doors, DVD, and other kid friendly features.
We have bought several Toyota vehicles. They have been the best cars we have ever bought. We routinely maintain them and they run forever.
I bought a certified used car with a extended warranty through Toyota. This warranty covered almost everything and I never had a problem when taking my car into the Toyota dealership to have warranty work done on it.
Cars that we bought in Toyota always last more than a decade, and we don't have much issues with the cars unlike people that we know that have a different brand.
This is the most reliable car brand out. I've had a total of 4 Toyotas and they are well build, reliable, and stylish. I've had 2 corollas, and 2 camrys and they have gone as high as 250,000 miles before I moved on to a new vehicle.
Very good vehicles, dealership need changed to listen to the customer better.
i own a 2010 prius with 105000 on it great little car mileage has decreased tp 36mpg
Excellent Customer Service and accurate account tracking
Corolla, the best car I have ever driven. The engine is so incredible, the gasoline consumption on point. Love the thrills while driving. And also, most of times it hits the repair shop is only for maintenance.
Toyota provides excellent service and customer support for any 4runner solutions I need.
I love my Toyota Camry. It's been driven for more than 150,000 miles and it's still going strong. These cars last forever and it's a testament at the quality of cars that Toyota is able to produce.
Toyota is the best. I have owned 5 different Toyota vehicles and have loved everyone of them. They all were pretty much bullet proof. My current Toyota Tundra has 212000 miles on it and is running great. I have changed the oil and one wheel bearing. That is it. It just keeps running with no costly maintenance. I will always drive a toyota.
Such a great experience with Toyota, that we have purchased 2 cars from them. Everyone from the Sales team, manager to our service advisor. El Cajon Toyota is the best! We pass 3 other dealerships to drive to them and will continue to do so for years to come. I love the 2 years of free service and roadside assistance. I could go on and on about them! Best service ever!!
I currently drive a 2006 Toyota Tundra and before I drove a 2005 Tundra that I wrecked and totaled. Toyota is a company I trust to made reliable vehicles that will last me a very long time. Service is excellent when I have had issues and I don't know that I'll ever buy anything but a Toyota.
I drove my friends Tacoma and it's was really nice! It had good seats and a nice design.
My Toyota truck can do it all, from off roading adventures to getting around town. It’s sturdy and has required only maintenance.
Absolutely love my Toyota 4Runner and have from the moment I drove it. I love the sporty, yet high-end features, and most importantly the safety features. Would buy again in a heartbeat.
Toyota are known to be cheap and efficient. They do last a long time, but they require a lot of car repair. Toyota cannot beat anyone's prices. My son currently drives a Toyota Corolla from 2003 that once belonged to me, and it still runs pretty good.
I love my Camry! It’s amazing and it drives great! I never have any issues and it’s great quality.
I have had a 2000 Toyota Avalon SE for almost 5 years now and it is FANTASTIC. I consider her my baby, and she glides like no other. There are some strange electrical issues with my alternator. Luckily, the first time my alternator went out I bought a lifetime warranty, so I’ve just been able to trade them in each time. But I have had to replace my alternator 3 times in those 5 years. (2/3 were free)
I love Toyota! They have the most reliable vehicles that run forever. May not have the features that others do but it gets you from a to b
We have had 5 Toyota’s, trucks to cars, and they’ve all been very reliable. I currently have a 2004 Toyota Solara, it’s got 150k+ miles on it and it runs just fine! They last forever and aren’t super high maintenance.
I've driven a Prius for the past 5 years and it still runs great. It is surprisingly spacious for its size and saves me a ton of money on gas!
We love our a Toyota Tundra! Toyota makes quality vehicles and when we've needed repairs or service done, they've been responsive and have provided excellent service.
I currently have a 2016 Toyota Camry. I personally love the car, rides really smooth, and the improved technology is really nice! The only tiny issue I have is the durability of the bumper; I feel as though the material is a bit easy to bend and damage but other than that, I love the car!
I currently have a 2018 Toyota Camry XLE that I love so much. Toyota cars are reliable, resistant and durable.
I have a newer highlander. I really like it. It has been a good solid car. The heat fan makes a funny high pitched noise. I would say my only complaint is that I wish it were a little better in the snow. But all around it drives nice and has great space for my 4 kiddos!
Been having my Toyota Tundra since 2004. Never let me down. Only thing I've changed on it since buying it was the battery. Great company and product.
Ive borrowed a Tundra for a week and it was one of the best trucks Ive driven. It was very smooth and easy to drive. The price seems very affordable for the cars and trucks provided and I have had little experience with customer service.
I am a loyal Toyota customer. For the past decade all the cars in my household are Toyota. They are very reliable and I rarely have issues. It is simple to get them fixed as well.
I’ve had a Toyota Sienna for about 15 years now, and it’s gotten almost 300,000 miles on it, but the most amazing thing about it is that we’ve only ever taken it to the shop for oil changes! Toyota has been a very reliable brand, and our car has lasted through many memories! From the looks of it, our car still has a lot more memories to go through still!
After twenty years their cars still hold up, hardly ever a problem that I have to deal with. Very worth the money.
Our family has owned a Toyota since 2005. Always smooth ride, had minimal repairs through the years. Excellent service whenever needed. Safe and comfortable driving experience. Recommend always to others.
My Toyota has 556k miles on it and it runs beautifully. You really get what you pay for and it’s high quality!
