The Good

  • Protected Purchases
  • Warranty Partners
  • Contract

Protected Purchases

With Consumer Priority Service, consumers can protect many different purchases, providing protection on expensive items and equipment for years to come. Protected purchases through Consumer Priority Service include the following:

  • Major appliances — $6.99 per month
  • Furniture — $3.99 permonth
  • Smartphone — $6.99 permonth
  • Tablet — $4.99 permonth
  • Television — $6.99 per month
  • Computer — $5.99 per month
  • Smartwatch — $2.99 per month
  • Exercise equipment — $9.99 per month
  • Patio — $4.99 per month
  • Video game system — $4.99 per month
  • Electronics — $2.99 per month
  • Camera — $6.99 per month
  • Drone — $8.99 per month
  • Lens — $6.99 per month
  • Commercial appliances — $9.99 per month

Not many extended warranty companies within the industry offer protection plans on this many purchases. The Consumer Priority Service model is unmatched when it comes to comprehensive purchase protection.

Warranty Partners

A unique offering through Consumer Priority Service is the company’s partnerships with major companies to provide extended coverage. So not only does Consumer Priority Service cover individual items, but there are warranties available for consumers who purchased products through the following avenues:

  • Sam’s Club
  • eBay
  • Amazon
  • Alibaba
  • AliExpress
  • Rakuten

Partnerships with the above mentioned companies only solidify Consumer Priority Service’s place in the extended warranty industry.

Contract

One of the downsides of many warranties is the contract. A contract can lock the consumer into a term limit and require payment and fees be made throughout the duration of the contract. Many extended warranty companies will lock the consumer into a contract before protection kicks in.

Consumer Priority Service never locks consumers into contracts. Consumers can cancel their monthly plan at any time for no penalty. If a consumer purchases an annual plan and wants to cancel early, a pro-rated refund will be sent for the unused portion of the coverage.

The Bad

  • Claims Process
  • Bundle to Save Structure

Claims Process

Similar to other warranty and insurance processes, the Consumer Priority Service claims process can take time and be a little tedious. While Consumer Priority Service has worked to simplify the claims process as much as possible, the following five steps need to be followed for standard service:

  1. Filing a claim can be done online or over the phone.
  2. CPS reviews the requests and will respond with instructions.
  3. Consumers must follow service instructions exactly and package unit carefully.
  4. Once the authorized servicing facility receives the item, it will be inspected and recorded.
  5. Product testing, repair, and return: the product will then go through a repair and testing process before being returned.

The in-home service functions much the same way, except instead of shipping off the product, a technician is dispatched to the home to do the repairs.

Bundle to Save Structure

Consumers looking to purchase an extended warranty membership for one or two products will quickly learn that in order to make the monthly payments worth it, they will need to purchase bundle warranties. The bundles break down as follows:

  • Appliances (up to 10 items) — $49.99 per month
  • Systems (up to 11 items) — $54.99 per month
  • Whole home (up to 21 items) — $79.99 per month
  • Lifestyle (up to 26 items) — $110.74 per month
  • Platinum (up to 18 items) — $80.82 per month
  • Gold (up to 13 items) — $58.87 per month
  • Kitchen (up to 5 items) — $27.95 per month
  • Laundry (up to 2 items) — $12.98 per month

Bundles are by far the most financially responsible way to go, but consumers may be pressured into purchasing warranties on purchases that they do not need in order to save. This is a different payment structure than other extended warranty providers offer.

The Bottom Line

Consumer Priority Service provides comprehensive warranty coverage for a wide variety of consumer purchases. Customers can bundle warranties for additional savings and maximum coverage. Customers are never required to sign a contract and cancel their warranty at any time.

Just like other forms of protections and service plans, the claims process can be a little tricky to navigate, but for the most part customers receive the service and compensation desired in a relatively timely fashion.

Consumers looking to protect their purchases and manage their extended warranties entirely online should consider consumer Priority Service for coverage. The company provides comprehensive protection plans and can save consumers money due to damages or malfunctions in the long run.
