American Express Business Gold cardholders can take advantage of 4X Membership Rewards points on the two select categories where their business spent the most each month. These 4X points apply to the first $150,000 in combined purchases from these two categories every calendar year. There is no limit on the total number of points that can be earned and no expiration date on points.
With the American Express Business Gold Card, cardholders who use points for all or a portion of an eligible flight booked through Amex Travel can get 25 percent points back. This offer is capped at 250,000 points back per calendar year.
The American Express Business Gold Card offers a flexible Pay Over Time option that allows cardholders to carry a balance with interest on purchases of $100 or more. However, if it’s better for their business, cardholders also have the option to pay their balance in full each month.
The American Express Business Gold Card does not have any foreign transaction fees, which means that cardholders are free to use their card overseas without being charged an additional fee.
The American Express Business Gold Card comes with a number of additional benefits for cardholders. For example, cardholders have access to expense management tools such as Quickbooks integration, Spend Manager features, account alerts, online statements, and a year-end summary of charges. Cardholders also receive up to one year free of both G Suite Basic and ZipRecruiter Standard. Additionally, American Express Business Gold cardholders have access to travel and transportation perks such as roadside assistance, hotel credits, the Global Assist hotline, and more.
American Express Business Gold cardholders are subject to an annual fee of $295, which is somewhat high compared to annual fees attached to other business credit cards.
With the American Express Business Gold Card, late payments result in a fee of $38 or 2.99 percent of any past due Pay in Full amount, whichever is greater. Returned payments result in a $38 fee.
Some business credit cards offer an APR that is lower than the card’s regular APR for an introductory period. However, the American Express Business Gold Card does not have a low introductory APR. The card’s regular variable APR ranges from 16.49 to 24.49 percent.
