Mechanical Robot Suit is a Casual Friday Game-Changer

By: Natalie Mootz  |  January 16, 2015

Casual Friday will never be the same again — assuming you have a million dollars. You’d need that kind of scratch, plus access to Amazon Japan. Only then can you finally purchase your dream Friday outfit: a robotic mech suit called a Kuratas. Not kidding.

You could also drive the Kuratas to work on Fridays. It’s got a ride-in cockpit that hurtles you down the freeway at the dizzying speed of five miles per hour. Of course, it only seats one so you’re gonna have to cancel that vanpool membership. Sorry, Fred with the bad coffee breath and Sue who talks too much that early in the morning. They’ll have to take it up with Suidobashi Heavy Industry, the company that makes the Kuratas and crushes the dreams of your carpool buddies.

Surely no one would abuse this concept. I mean, no one would ever think of replacing the arms with guns, right? Um, wrong. The suit already comes with a BB Gatling gun. But it’s “smile controlled!” How could that possibly be bad? I guess the good news is that the arms are sold separately. So, yeah, you’d have to pay more for the gun arms. But what the heck, you’ve got a million dollars! I mean, what are you going to do with all that cash? Give it to charity? Improve the lives of the people around you? Now don’t be silly. You know darn well you are going to buy some plastic BBs for that Gatling gun and we both know it.

So what are you going to do with the Kuratas suit the other six days of the week? If you’re thinking what I’m thinking, you could recoup that million dollars by filming your cat in a shark suit riding that bad boy around the backyard. Worked for that Roomba cat, am I right?
