The Good

  • Lifetime Warranty
  • Customer Support
  • Guarantees

Lifetime Warranty

Blindster offers a manufacturer’s lifetime warranty on its products. This means that the manufacturer guarantees the product will not have defects during the product’s reasonable lifetime.

Customer Support

The majority of positions at Blindster are filled with customer satisfaction employees. In fact, out of the 18 employees featured on the website, 12 of them handle customer support or customer satisfaction. The amount of manpower and money given to the customer service department is a reflection of how much Blindster values customer satisfaction.

Guarantees

Blindster has an extremely unique “Fit-Or-Free” Guarantee, where customers can request a size different from the original order for free, even if the original blinds didn’t fit because of customer error. Blindster also has a 60-Day Satisfaction Guarantee, which helps customers get refunds for purchases that they aren’t satisfied with during the first 60 days.

The Bad

  • Inexperienced
  • Cost

Inexperienced

Blindster has only been around since 2010. Though the website claims over 100 years of combined experience in its employees, its ultimate success and ability to handle customer concerns is determined by how much experience Blindster has in the blinds industry.

Cost

The company may have to rely more on a unique customer experience because its prices are higher than other companies in the blinds industry. The lowest base cost of products at Blindster is $25.45, about $10.00 higher than some other companies that sell blinds online.

The Bottom Line

Customers may be attracted to Blindster’s emphasis on customer happiness and satisfaction, despite the company’s lack of experience in the blinds industry. Even though its lowest prices are higher than other companies, customers may be comforted by the fact that Blindster offers a 60-Day Guarantee, a “Fit-Or-Free” Guarantee, and a lifetime warranty. With the guarantees and lifetime warranty taken into consideration, we recommend customers at least consider comparing the benefits of Blindster with other companies in the industry.

I was trepidatious about even looking to buy blinds out if fear of the expense and everything else. But the need was greater than my fear. I had looked in lower priced sites and gotten some idea of what I hoped to find and, thankfully, found it at Blindster. com There were explicit instructions about how to measure which I almost ignored but did decide to *follow the instructions* and trust the process. I ordered only one as a test and received my roll-up solar shade within a few days, sufficiently packaged and with instructions and hardware. Still, I was skeptical and nearly ignored good sense about following the instructions. This is the perfect time to plug instructional videos be made. Will order again.

Avoid Deluxe Light Filtering Double Cellular Shades with Top Down -- We purchased 5 of these Deluxe Blinds and THREE of the Top Down mechanisms failed and became stuck - even with careful use or even very limited use. Blindster sent replacements the first time - but when one of the replacements failed, Blindster took over 2 months to decide to require us to ship back the faulty blind for repair - after first insisting that we installed it on a sliding glass door. More pictures later - no replacement. How are we to send back a 60" faulty blind that failed with limited and careful use. AVOID THESE Deluxe Light Filtering Double Cellular Shades. And don't expect BLINDSTER to honor their word.

We just ordered our roller shades from Blindster. I really liked how they had lots of videos about how to install them, and how to measure for them. Since we've gotten them we've had to tighten the springs on our shades which has been convenient, but luckily you can tighten the springs if they become loose. Not the highest quality ever, but they were super inexpensive.

I am sick to my stomach after trying to work with Blindster on a very important order. I ordered two blinds in mid-November to have before the arrival of guests arriving on December 28. My order arrived the first week of December but in a color that was completely different from the color on the screen. I called to find out about making an exchange and was on hold for over an hour. The representative who finally picked up told me I would need to wait to receive a shipment of samples before they would remake the product, which I understood. The day I received my samples, I followed the customer service rep's instructions and emailed her back to confirm which blinds I needed. I called several times to check the status of my order, but received a voicemail that the office was closed for a holiday party - apparently they forgot to take down the holiday party voicemail for several days afterwards. A full week later, I finally got through to someone (although I again was placed on a lengthy hold), and then was told that no one had processed my reorder and nothing had been done yet. I calmly requested that they expedite my order, as it's only two medium-sized blinds, and because we both acknowledged that they had failed to process the order in a timely fashion. Blindster refused. I am now a week out from the arrival of my guests, scrambling to find something else to cover the windows so I don't have to put up foil. I'm not sure I'll be able to find anything in time and I am so deeply disappointed. In a stressful time of year, working with Blindster has added unnecessary anxiety to my holidays. Ordering online always has its risks, and I've learned that when it comes to window treatments, online ordering just isn't smart. Bottom line: If you need it done right, go elsewhere.

Excellent choices in colors and materials. Great customer service. Accurate measuring has resulted in perfect sizing. I have placed 3 orders thus far, and will be back.
