Dorney Park traces its origins back to 1884. Founded by Solomon Dorney, Dorney Park has grown tremendously from mere gardens, campgrounds, and a zoo to a full amusement park and water park.
Dorney Park is found in South Whitehall Township, Pennsylvania. With rides, coasters, cabanas, and the new Seaside Splashworks, Dorney is bringing in millions of people each year to enjoy all it has to offer. Special events include the School Is Cool character breakfast, Monster Jam Thunder Alley, Halloween Haunt, the Great Pumpkin Fest, and Coaster Madness.
This is a god place to take a Girl Scout Troop. I went there with my troop as a child and then again since I became a leader and my kids love it. For the girls it made the perfect trip for the beginning of summer.
Dorney Park is just ok. It's closer than the bigger parks like Disney World, so distance is convenient, but the quality isn't as great.
Love the water park. We have been there twice so far hope to catch this years Halloween event. What I have noticed going from one year to the next it seems to be extremely over crowded like the pro is at mass capacity and it seems that the security while it’s there is not able to make it to a situation in time before it escalates.
