Exceptional Completion Rate
DARA Thailand has an exceptional completion rate. They state their average completion rate is 92 percent which ranks them among the best rehabilitation centers in the world. The average rehabilitation completion rate is less than 50 percent.
Tropical Island Paradise Setting
When attending one of the DARA Thailand centers, you will be taken to a tranquil environment that’s located on one of two islands. This allows you to recover in a spa-like setting that’s far away from temptation and the stress of your everyday life. Your information and situation are completely confidential and no record is ever shared with any third party. Additionally, their staff are all bound by non-disclosure agreements.
The treatment costs for DARA Thailand’s programs could be considered good or bad depending on who you ask; however, if you were to pay for an all-inclusive four week stay at a luxury resort, it would most definitely surpass what they are asking. And that’s because the DARA founders subsidize the program which brings it down from $15,000 to $6,995 for their four-week all-inclusive treatment program in their Villa/Deluxe Room. Or, you could opt for a Pool Villa/Suite for $13,900. These fees, however, don’t include airfare or transportation to Bangkok. They also offer eight- and 12-week programs as well. They require a 50% deposit prior to arrival and the balance is due when you arrive.
- No accreditations
- No apparent gender specific programs
- International-only locations
DARA Thailand doesn’t hold a CARF or JCAHO accreditation; however, they are a member of British Association for Counseling & Psychotherapy (BACP) and the National Association of Addiction Treatment Providers (NAATP). And, they have a 92 percent completion rate. Therefore, the fact that they don’t hold any accreditations might be a moot point.
No Apparent Gender Specific Programs
Unfortunately, DARA Thailand doesn’t appear to offer any type of gender specific programs. Their villas are single occupancy so that’s not a problem. When it comes to group sessions, etc., however, some people find it easier to discuss their issues around people of their own gender. With that being said, DARA might very well offer gender specific programs and group sessions; however, they don’t make that apparent on their website. Therefore, if that’s something that’s important to you, you will need to contact them for more information.
The DARA Thailand facilities are both in Asia. Therefore, you will have to travel to Asia if you want to attend one of their facilities. If you don’t mind traveling, having a treatment facility far from where you live could ultimately be a good this as we mentioned above. But if you do mind traveling that far or just don’t want to attend a rehabilitation center in Asia, you will have to choose another company.
