It seems like almost everybody has a fitness tracker these days. People are consumed with monitoring steps, calories burned, and quality of sleep. What used to be a tool for only fitness gurus is now a gadget found on the wrists and waistbands of more and more Americans, with dozens of choices out there.
One of the newest fitness trackers on the market stands out most for its price. The Movo Wave is a basic tracker that retails at only $29.99, and aims at allowing everybody to join the fitness tracker crowd.
But you're not going to find many of the features found on rival devices. It's a simple device - measuring only steps, distance and calories, which many experts argue are the most important areas in understanding and developing daily healthy habits.
Wave data is synced by plugging the wristband into the headphone jack of your smart phone. The App is available on iOS now, with Google Play becoming available in early 2015. It comes in a range of sizes, from XS-XL, allowing the perfect fit. And it's lightweight, weighing less than an ounce.
The Wave also boasts a bonus feature not found on other devices. You can pair each day's movements to photos on your camera roll, allowing you to create what the company calls a "Life Log."
If cost has kept you from joining the fitness tracker craze, the Movo Wave is a viable option. It's basic, but it's smart. And it gets the job done.
