They have qualified staff. There were good sales people working with us all the way through the process. The support has been very good just to follow up with the issues or problems I've had. They're out here pretty quick. I've had some issues with some of the switches and things like that that sometimes don't work as I expected them to.

The price was good and they offered us the ability to buy what we needed not a package. It does the job it is intended to do and we're not paying for electricity. I do have a piece of equipment that they told me to get in touch with the manufacturer about, but it is not harming the system.

I choose them because they were at Costco and they are a reputable company in my area. The overall customer support has been good. The coordinators were in close contact with me and checked on the progress and scheduled appropriately. They followed their commitments and time schedule. Some tiles were broken installation but they were later replaced. I am fairly satisfied with the equipment and quality.

All the research that we did indicated that it was a reputable company. The person came out and gave us all the information we requested. We did have them come out and put some screening around the panels because of the birds and they came and there was no issue. Installation went smoothly. The equipment has never given us problems.

I wish there was more immediate information on their site, My Sun Run, available to me. I know others who have Sun Run and they can access all kinds of real time information, how much they are producing, what amount APS is buying. I find all I get is bare bones information, How many Kwh produced the day before.I find it hard to judge what kind of service I am getting with such limited information.

They have provide excellent customer service the 2 years I have been with them, including a credit back when my system did not perform to the expectations due to a wire that was disconnected. Scheduling for the construction process took longer than I had expected. Required a second inspection which could have been avoided in my view. The partnership with Costco required full payment (financed) before construction would begin even though SunRun didn't get paid until after final inspection. Costco paid a 3% rebate however. I was told that the conduit would be painted to match the house and that never occurred.

I have noticed a difference in my electricity bills during the summer months. Yes, I have to pay a fee in order to use SunRun each month but it is a steady amount. The electric bill changes from month to month. Just recently, both the gas and electric bills have increased. I'm glad that I signed up for SunRun when I did.

My experience with them has been very positive. I had it installed in my previous house, I had just decided to try it then and everything worked very well. The installation was good and it saved me a lot of money. So, when we moved to another house, I just looked them up again and had it all installed. We signed up for it because of a friend's referral. Basically, we wanted to save money and be self sufficient. Their installation people should make sure that everything is plugged in and working before they leave though. When they did our installation they forgot to plug in one area of the roof and we kind of missed out on a couple of weeks of energy.

I had a young man come by and talk to me about solar. At that time California had a thing where, if you put solar on your house, they would re-evaluate your house. I told him to bring that to me in writing to make sure it was all true, he did, and I went ahead and put the solar system on. He was a very good and knowledgeable young man. The installation people were very good. They told me what was going on and did things right on schedule. After that they gave me a website that I can go to to check how much energy my system is generating on a daily basis.

Buyers Beware! Right from the start there were problems. Not minor glitches either, but major discrepancies with what we were told by the sales person and what actually happened. The sales person initially stated it would only take a 7-10 days for installation to be scheduled and completed. However, it was well over 4 months before installation was completed. During the initial consultation, the sales person told us to submit 3 months of our previous electric bills and claimed he padded our regular usage by 1.5 times what our usage history demonstrated. He boasted this would be a huge cost savings, which we were happy to hear, being retirees and living on a fixed income. The sales person explained that as long as we didn’t go over our new set point for allocated usage, we would never again receive a bill from Edison. He then reiterated the only time we would ever receive a bill from Edison, is if we used more electricity than we generated each day, yet every month since the system was installed, we have received a bill from Edison for miscellaneous charges.. in fact our cost for electricity is now $40 a month higher with solar than it was without. Another issue we encountered was we were offered to add on to our order a battery back up so in the event of an outage we would have access to the power we generated that was to be stored as a back up resource, however sometime after the battery back up was installed, we learned through observation of the equipment, not collecting power. After calling in to customer service we were informed that 1. the battery was defective and would need to be replaced, and 2. they decided to change the manner in which the battery back up is intended to work. Now it was set to discharge whatever had been stored throughout the day, starting every night at approximately 4pm, to address peak hour electrical usage, so as to reduce the impact of higher rates being assessed by Edison… READ THAT AGAIN AND MAKE IT MAKE SENSE - we are generating 1.5 times MORE of our own electricity, than we had ever previously used, without solar, but now we have to worry about electrical usage fees during peak hours?! Next was the main board outage that was obviously not being properly monitored by SunRun, which while out in the backyard one night I noticed a steady red light, which intuitively seemed to be a visual alert that wasn’t there when the system was first installed. No one from SunRun noticed the system wasn’t working, instead we had to call customer service to ask why it didn’t seem like the system was functioning properly… they told us they’d have a repair team out right away, but even that took 3 days… Next is the billing mixup and the rude accusations from collections, aggressively harassing us, rather than taking the time to review all the transactions and explain where they were arriving at the discrepancy. We made dozens of phone calls requesting to escalate the matter of harassment, but no one called us back… we eventually went through all of our statements to figure out what happened and resolved the billing matter ourselves, no thanks to SunRun customer support. Finally, the (verbally) undisclosed annual rate increase that we only became aware of when the monthly billing statement price had increased. If we had it all to do over again, it would be a resounding “thanks, but no thanks” from us.

The installers that were at my house said they would be returning to cut a few pieces that were too long. They never came back and I haven’t been able to get anyone back. There are 3 pieces that extend past my roof and it doesn’t look good at all. Also, we were offered a $1000 referral for anyone that we recommended SunRun to as long as they also purchased solar. We never received that $1000.

The two is based on the missing service for installing a new system for a new customer. 1) The installation did not pass inspection. The Sunrun crew stayed a few hours, applying fixes for the reported faults, and stated the follow-up should be in about a week. 2) No appointment was set up. After no call-back, for two weeks, I scheduled an appointment. They NEVER updated the available days - for a while it was only 2 days a week - which became full week like everyone else. I told them twice - they NEVER updated their work order. 3) I was NOT informed that staying around to label the breakers was part of the PGE inspection. 4) The installation was Oct 14, 2023. With all the delays, and the reschedule to pass the inspection - the best they can offer is Dec 14, just before christmas break. 5) If solar panels are approved and activated before 2024, I will consider it a lucy day and buy a lottery ticket. 6) No solar power until half of winter has passed - with the winter heating bills. The flexible payment plans are great. Everything is great until installation has be corrected before the service is actually available.

So far I thought the hookup to the utility company was only $5/mo. It's been running $15/mo. I also put in a request to check connections due to lights flickering. One guy came out, tightened the electrical panel. Happened again. I called, was given a case number and then no follow up. Thankfully it stopped, but happened in 3 rooms. Still, no call and no follow up.
