I should have done more research before I signed contract with Sunrun company. Before the installation they promised you everything, after everything is finalized and it's ready to operate, they will ignore you. I have called, text and emails to them and several different people from Sunrun and non of them replied. Avoid this company and do research before you even thinking of calling them.

I arranged for a Sunrun representative to come to my home and quote me on a residential solar system. The representative was arrogant and not knowledgable. His approach was to talk a lot of non-sense and try to convince me to overpay. A solar system installed cost should be around $3.20 per Watt. Sunrun wasn't close, and worse they planned to keep the Illinois Shine incentive for themselves! Don't overpay for solar, and don't waste your time with Sunrun.

My system was drastically underbuilt, causing me to have a massive Tru up. Now they want to give me more panels, at a much higher monthly cost. They don't correct their own mistakes. They also placed the panels, where they receive the least amount of sun. I question if this was a bait and switch game, on behalf of Sun Run. They promise an over build at a low price, make an oopsy, then will put in more panels, and I get hosed. Bottom line RUN FROM SUN RUN!!!

My service has gone down multiple times over the last couple of years, now they are unresponsive. My system has been down for 7 weeks. I've been emailing and calling and even contacted Mary P CBO. They are still taking my monthly payment yet my system's been down and they're completely unresponsive. I've been completely neglected and left in the dark and I've been begging for help. There is no way to get to talk to anybody. And when you call the field service phone number their voicemail has all kinds of customer service promises and kudos to themselves.

Sunrun is a joke they lie to sell there stuff they told me my solar bill will be 181.00 for 18 months then it will go up to 240.00 but I will get 11,380 back on taxes I can turn it over to them and my bill will stay at 181.00 but the trouble is you don't get the money so your solar goes up I talk to a manager he said we don't say that but I talk to others people the sales man sold to they told me he told them the same thing don't buy Sunrun they will get you

Non-exosting customer service. We decided to go with Sunrun to install the panels on our roof and what a mistake it was in retrospect. Initially everything went smooth until they installed incorrect panels and now trying to rework the contracts and what not. My panels were installed on 09/07/22 and the system didn't pass several inspections. After 3 months every issue was finally addressed but then they just disappeared and I haven't heard from them since.

Worst solar system. I recently got sunrun installed in my house. Sunrun folks have punctured bunch of holes on my roof where there are no solar panels installed. Sunrun guys said this for the support of their solar system. Water is leaking from those punctured holes causing damage to my house. I have made my complaint it's been 2 days no body from sunrun had responded me back regarding roof repair. Also, there is no cost saving after installation of sunrun solar system. I pay pg&e $453 and sunrun $134. Previously we were just paying pg&e . Now sunrun solar system is just an add on burden.

RUN AWAY! They will not honor there roof agreement. We have clear evidence where anchors missed the joist and created leaks, they closed it and stated it was due to squirrels and not the 5 areas where the anchors missed the joist and it just happens to be where the water is getting in. I wish I could just rip them off and throw them on my lawn. DO NOT DO IT!!

I was sold my solar system by a sales rep going door to door. I knew I needed a new roof in the next year or so and he said the company would remove and reinstall the panels at no charge when I needed the new roof well two years later here I am needing my roof redone and I feel completely taken advantage of by this company and their sales team because now they are telling me I need to pay $2500 for the service. They lied to my face just to make the sale. This is sad and disrespectful and they are a very untrustworthy company. Stay far away. I would never recommend this company.

SUNRUN will not correct the amount of my solor monthly payment of which they adjusted because they could not place panels on my roof the way the original contact lay it out. When I received the new contract the monthly amount was changed and stated that the old contract was voided out. And a new monthly payment was establish. I need help getting anyone at SUNRUN to my the adjustments. All I get is that someone will call me on this matter. But there has been no rely sense January 2022.

I started with this company thru Costco in January. It is now September and my solar is still not installed. Everytime I escalate the issue, someone would contact me for a day then disappears. If I try to contact them back, no one would return my call or text. Meanwhile, they already started auto payment even though I was told I would not have to start paying until my solar has been installed. I’m going to give them a few more months. If I don’t get my solar panels, I will cancel. Hopefully I get my money back.

PLEASE READ. Don't purchase solar panels from Sunrun. 30 months in and currently trying to get resolution to my problem. I have been without my solar panels delivering electricity to my house for last 6 weeks and racked up >$400 in new bills from the electricity company. Issues: managers don't get back with you, their is zero ownership, zero sense of urgency and zero concern to understand or solve my problem, their system for handling problems and logistics are very poor. Very poorly run company.

My personal experience started great with the initial salesman that came to home and explained everything really well. Then his area supervisor showed up, looking like he just rolled out of bed. He then proceeded to take over the sale. He lost my business because of his "pressure sales tactics." If you the offer then have them call you back in a couple of days after you sleep on it. Don't commit on the spot, Don't give them a couple of your drivers license, canceled check or anything other than what you already provided..

you have THE WORST customer service EVER ANYWHERE. I am a ham radio op, the noise created by cheap panels far exceeds any/all FCC standards. I have been promised help with this. Results-ZERO. I am totally dissatisfied with your product and less than worthless responses. The panels work just fine. The next letter goes to the FCC, hope it costs you a lot (I will, until you fix the problem) continue to tell anybody and anybody what a disreputable company you are. The last guy you want to deal with is either the FCC or a lawyer

Warning! Our inverter was found to be not working by accident and very high electric bill, not by your monitoring system. I have waited 2 months for a new inverter and now repair schedule is a month out. In the meantime we have missed out on our summer sunshine solar storage for winter months usage. Basically paying for a system I can’t use! They just don’t care.. Please fix my system that has been NON-Working since June. I don’t want apologies just a working system as promised in contract.

Worst company ever! Our panels were installed 2 months ago and still haven’t heard from our representative as to why they are still not working. We’ve sent email after email and no response. We called customer service and they said we should reach out to our representative. Such a frustrating situation! I regret choosing this company for solar panels. My inverter went out on the 16 of Aug .22 (System has only been working 3 months) I was not notified . I found out myself . It has been a week and half and all i get from Sunrun is that the inverter will take 6-8 weeks to replace as they do not keep in stock . Its under warranty but have to wait for Solar Edge the manufacture to get one or make it or what ever they do . I find this totally unacceptable.. Without any explanation, they couldn't even find the contract after sending someone to do the initial inspection. I’ve had SunRun for two years and had the worst experience. My panels were putting out less than they were supposed to so SCE was charging me twice as much for year end .1500$ - 3000$ SunRun was supposed to discount me for the loss I received. Instead my monthly bill went from 280$-344$ .SunRun never returns calls. And customer service can’t understand you, or you them.

SunRun took over our account from Vivint. I have found their service to by abysmal! I have 8 microinverters out of 34 not reporting and it has taken months for them to schedule an appointment, then when a technician showed up all he did was look at the array and lookup my system on enphase to see that 8 microinverters were not reporting. He then entered a claim and said they need to get the parts and schedule another appointment. They should have already known what my system needed and had it on the truck before I wasted a half day of vacation time. Totally incompetent service.

We had Sunrun put up panels in February and the system is still not working. Sunrun told us that PG&E was the hold up but we received word from PG&E that everything was approved and ready. We have been trying to get a hold of Sunrun for some time but so far, no luck. No one ever answers the phone and despite leaving message after message, we have not heard from anyone. We are frustrated to the point of wanting the entire system taken down.

One of the worse company's I've ever dealt with. We've had problems with our solar panels for more than 3 years. My wife and I have been trying to get a hold of our Sunrun reps for more than a year to help fix the issues we're having and we haven't gotten one response from the company reps. As a paying customer, all we want is to have our equipment work and not be ignored by Sunrun, but to still be paying our monthly bill and still have panels that don't work is unacceptable on so many levels. I would not recommend this company to my worse enemy!

Just had a 1PM appointment for a quote. The rep did not even show up! This was after he called me twice this week to tell me he was near my house and it would be convenient for HIM to come by then. Great for him! One of the days was a Sunday and I was not home and the other day I was at work! So here I am waiting for him when we did have an appointment and he is no where to be found. I contacted him and he told me he could be maybe here in an hour or so. I told him this is clearly a preview of what is to come - NO THANK YOU!

We never got to installation and perhaps that's a good thing. Had a signed contract, had designs for panel placement and then no communication. I emailed twice and finally called only to learn that, according to SunRun, our roof was too steep for safe installation. Why wouldn't they have discovered that when they designed the panel placement and why didn't anyone contact us right away. Makes me wonder about their customer service after installation. Definitely not a good experience but perhaps a blessing in disguise.

This is the worst company I have ever worked with. With each review I leave online, I get email the customer care email or email the online review email. I email them and receive zero response. I currently have a question about the system we have and the output we can expect. NO ONE will answer the question. I have emailed over and over and over again. It has been over two weeks and no one has contacted me. Stay away from this company unless you have months to waste waiting for them to do their job.

Sunrun installed the solar panels under the shade of a 65ft high palm tree, when easily could install some feet away from where they did. Unbelievable. The worst part is they do not fix it, they don't reply to me. BTW, the palm is on a neighbor's backyard, I have no control over it. Be aware of this company, their sales person acts like a shield for the company, everything is wonderful until you have a problem. Then they do not answer your questions, do not fix anything. Silent. In a word, terrible. Their concept of customer service is to listen to you, apologize, and pass the buck to one of their contractors. There is not enough space to detail the ongoing saga of their incompetence but the tale involves missed appointments, driving 4 hours to my home where the system is installed to wait for a tech who never arrives and when you call to find out what happened they don't know!! Don't deal with this company. They're crooks. They put the panels on the roof of my house where there's shade. In 2020, my Tru-up bill from PGE was $3,000.00. In 2021, it was $4,000.00. They gave me 6 months without charging me the $170 per month, Now they resumed deducting $170 from my account, while still having to. make payments on my PGE bill.

Run from SunRun!!! Horrible customer service! Falsifying information on their sales contract with my elderly parents. Multiple mistakes during install. Finally got it running and then it stopped for weeks. Now we have a giant true up bill. Filed a complaint with customer service and after 7 weeks and copious calls and emails we get an email response saying they closed our case without ever having spoken to the person "in charge" of resolving our dispute. Do not do business with these people.

I am the tenant in a small house in Sun City West, AZ. Solar (Sunrun) stopped functioning in August. Sunrun knew there was a problem, did NOTHING. Took several weeks for them to even respond to phone call. They outsource maintenance and finally we spoke to them (P M & M) . They were to fix the broken system in 10 days - 2 weeks, and it’s been 3 weeks and they haven’t contacted anyone, and not answering message. DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH SUNRUN. UNRELIABLE!

If you produce more energy than you use, you will be, in essence, financially PENALIZED. This month I paid a combined total of to the utility and solar company (Sunrun) $149.76 for using 165 Kwh. Last. year I paid the utility company $103.97 for using 466 Kwh. In other words, last year I paid $ .22 or 22 cents per Kwh, and this year I am paying $.91 or 91 cents per Kwh. And in the company is pocketing the solar energy to get more $$$$ off of! Sadly this is a SCAM. I like being environmentally conscious and making solar energy, but to be financially penalized for it????

I am losing more than $400 a year with this system. I do save on electric bills but their monthly fee is way too high. Customer support is terrible, even though they acknowledge this issue they don't do anything about, rather they disappear from communications, i saved all texts and email i may sue them if they don't resolve the problem. Already reported to BBB. The sale representative Wynn lied to me in order to sell me this system.

Agree with the previous review. Vivint is hands down the worst vendor we have ever used on our home. Panels and wall batteries installed 5 months ago and still not connected, and no firm date when they will be connected. Would be nice if we could blame PG&E but can’t. In fact, at one point PG&E showed up for a scheduled appointment and Vivint was a no show!! Inexcusable and frankly ridiculous Kevin D

Do not go with this company. They put the panels on our roof 6 months ago and we still don’t have service. The sales rep forgot about us. Not to mention when he 1st came to our door, he was maskless. Not sure what they get out of having solar panels on roofs with no service. I say someone say they never received their welcome gift card. Must be same sales rep because we didn’t either.

Sun Run is a joke... my roof leaked in 2 areas during installation... they won’t fix my roof I have to spend $1200.... and I’ve been paying more on my electric bill instead of saving... 2019 I paid $1000, 2020 I have to pay additional $1800 on top of my $162 monthly bill. Customer service is another joke, they promised to call me back in 2-3 days ... I called 3x no call back. I would not recommend this company even to my worst enemy .

I would give them 0 stars if I could. Our 34 panel system is supposed to be 110% offset but we keep paying the power company and sunrun. We are saving nothing, it costs us money and I'm in Arizona with 330 days a year of sun. They don't monitor your system, you do and you pretty much have to guess to see if it's working. Customer service is poorly trained and will give you the run around constantly. They were fine until we signed but now they're just awful. We have an under performing system that can't supply power for a household of 2. Ridiculous!

Hello Kimberly, if you own the system, we do not proactively monitor the system. Once you go solar, your utility company will begin billing you as a "net energy metering" (NEM) customer. This means instead of billing you for all of your electricity usages, your utility will only bill you for the difference between system production and how much total electricity your home needed for the month. If your solar production is used immediately in your home, it will not be sent to the grid which will cause a discrepancy between your production on mySunrun and your utility bill. For example, if the system generates 400 kWh of solar electricity and you used a total of 600 kWh of electricity in your home, your utility company will only bill you for 200 kWh of electricity. Please let us know if you have any further questions.

I just bought a house with leased panels from Sunrun. My power bill has gone up every month for 3 months. The last month by over $100.00 I need to have a new roof installed. Sunrun is going to charge me over $4,000 to take the panels down and reinstall after the new roof is put on. I do not know when Sunrun will come out. Hard to line up a roofing company. Customer service is below average.

Have had SunRun for three years, have complained about higher bills than I have ever had prior to contracting with Sunrun. Bills are probably 30% higher instead of lower. To date nothing has been done. Customer service sent a tech out who stated something was not working properly, left and never saw him again. Do not contract with this company, you will regret it.

This company was friendly at the start and through the installation. Once the install was complete, there was damage made by their company and the roofing company they hired. I called, no response. I sent an email and heard back. They said they would have someone get back. Never heard back from them, even after many emails and calls. They do not follow up with issues with their installs!

So, I already posted a review on March 12th, outlining our experience with Sunrun. March 27th, Sunrun responded to that review, asking for my address so they could address my concerns and find some resolution. I provided that info and more by the end of March. It is now May 15th, and I haven't heard anymore from them. If you're reading the reviews, and see that Sunrun seems to be concerned and looking to help, take that with a grain of salt. I know that Covid-19 could have had an impact, but come on; this proves my original complaint-they are disorganized, unresponsive and dismissive.
