The sales people, installers and support person did an outstanding job however the quality of the staff that handled our payment was far from excellent - Twice we were told that checks were not received when we had notification that, in fact, they had been. This has caused us to have to go through considerable effort to provide evidence that the checks were cashed. On the first check Sunpower discovered their mistake, don't know yet about the second.

Solar Farmers

The SunPower app does not work properly since installation approx 4 months ago. We constantly receive error messages about Wifi connection; slow data transmission; etc. We are unable to see true stats for ourself so every month we have to wait for our electricity bill to confirm the system is truly working. We like to see our own stats in real time, which is what we were told we'd be able to do. When we call the SunPower customer service number we're referred to our installer. The installer has come out to check our unit multiple times, they contacted SunPower about the issue but are uncertain when the app will function properly. This app situation with no solution in sight is not ideal and we feel like we have been taken advantage of. We were told we'd be able to monitor our unit, but we cannot.

Believe we got superior Solar panels from SunPower that looks good, performs outstanding, and awesome monitoring app. The only "ding" is the high cost of panels, but I figured I'm in this for the long term and felt we will reap higher reward when it gets to 15, 20, 25 years old.

We went live on our 10.8 KW SunPower Maxeon 435 system on 2/6/23. Since that time we have accumulated -$728 In credits from Eversource, our local CT electric company. This is in stark contrast to our previous average monthly bill of $240…which can reach well over $400 during summer months due to air conditioning and various inground pool utilities. Our SunPower dealer/installer, SAVKAT out of Bristol, CT, have been there for us…not only during installation & startup but along the way fielding our questions. Given the added real estate value, monthly credit accumulation, tax credits & the recent 40% increase in Eversource rates, our break even point has been calculated at <5 years .

425watt panels x20 for a 8.5kw system All paperwork was done online including the financing. All went through perfectly and was explained beforehand. Did not beat winter however so install was delayed to late Feb 2023. Install crew were fantastic and were done installing the 20 panels on my roof under 6hrs. Electrician came out the next day. The electricians were great, answered my questions and even tolerated me changing my mind on where to install the equipment. System failed activation the 1st time by Ameren for a "Rate Limit Failure"...it produced too much power too quickly. Yeah, it is a new guideline that SunPower did not know of, they sent a tech out to provision the equipment with the proper limit within a couple of days. Then I had to wait on Ameren again. Passed the 2nd inspection by Ameren on March 10, 2023 and has been producing as it should. At this point, I have nothing bad to report on the system, or the company.

Absolutely the worst customer service I’ve dealt with - apologies like crazy but no performance - in a month from now it’ll have been 1/2 a year without power and no word on when it’ll be fixed. All I’m left with is major regrets for my Sunpower contract. Buyers beware!

Improper installation has left our roof with at least approximately 8 + leaks. SunPower came out and moved the panels around because the hold down screws came through the roof and leaked. They filled the holes with silicone expecting to stop the leaks. They said they wouldn't know if that would work until it rained and to get back to them if the problem continued. We have been contacting them for the last 4 months without a response. I'm told by a roofing contractor that the panels have to come off and the roof repaired before the panels can be reinstalled. Started off great, but unfortunately still dealing with an installation issue 8 months later. Freedom Solar, the installation partner, installed our panels too low for our flood zone. I’ve spent over $130k and countless hours trying to get Freedom out to move the panels so we can pass inspection. The city inspector literally stops by once a week and I just can’t get anyone at Freedom to resolve this. I wish SunPower would live into the seamless service they promised. Dozens of calls and tickets that just circle. So frustrating

I actually purchased solar panels from this company about 12 or 13 years ago and I was very happy I did so they worked as expected and the company was a pleasure to work with, in fact so much so that I had 5 of my friends contact them, all of which purchased their own. Sadly this all changed with the company a couple of years ago. My unit was no longer producing the power it should. I contacted SunPower and almost a year later they resolved the problem. Yes I said that right almost a year. But that isn't even the worse of it, their technician who replaced the faulty unit created a problem with the electrical that caused the main breaker on my house to burn out. At the time I did not realize that, plus it was in the middle of summer here in Arizona, 100 plus degrees. The electrician that did fix the problem had to disconnect the solar panels to do so. This cost me over $1000, which I have been trying to collect for over 6 months now. The company just flat out refuses to work with you. They haven't denied it, which they can't, but they haven't reimbursed me either. Sadly I have spoken with two others that purchased the solar panels which have had problems to where they are unwilling to work with them as well. This company has gone, at least to me, as gone from a good customer service company to an extremely poor one. At this point if you are looking for solar panels, which I believe are a good investment, I would definitely look elsewhere.

The installation process was delayed quite a long time and that was probably the worst part of it. They left pipes and tubings on top of the roof, material on the floor and wires or extra clips and wires hangers left on the roof. I have about 4 panels that Sunpower installed and it's rare they get sun because of the position they put them on the roof where they could have probably been placed in another location. So I have let's say 4 panels that are bringing I'd say 15% or 20% capacity compared to the other ones.

Overall, positive rating. Only issue was not measuring the grid voltage before design and installation. We are 208VAC and a 240VAC system was initially installed. SunPower corrected the issue by sourcing and installing new micro-inverters rated for 208V
