The installation and cost were excellent but now that we finally have some real rain in northern California, I am very disappointed how the LeafFilters function at the inside corners of my roof gutters. Leafs and tree debris seem to build up at these locations so that rainwater runs over the gutter in this area as if my gutters are completely clogged. Not sure I have any solution to this other than climbing a ladder and cleaning these corners.

The patented LeafFilter gutter product is a filtering system made of 275 micron steel mesh — at 275 microns fine, not even a single grit or pine needle will get through the micromesh. The mesh is combined with a uPVC frame with built-in pitch that will shed debris, as well as structural hangers that are fastened to your fascia board. It’s worth noting that the uPVC material used for the gutter frame also ensures that the frame won’t warp or deteriorate over time due to weather extremes.
Gutter Helmet seeks to provide the most permanent gutter guard solution possible. The Gutter Helmet gutter product varies from LeafFilter’s product by using a debris shedding design instead of a filter. Gutter Helmet includes seven patented features that maintains water flow through gutters while shedding any debris, and the system includes load-bearing supports that are reinforced and anti-corrosive.
In addition to its gutter guard product, Gutter Helmet offers its Helmet Heat® ice reduction system, a self-regulating heat cable that can be installed with your gutter guard to keep snow and ice from building up on the edges of your roof. The Helmet Heat cables can be installed on a new or existing Gutter Helmet, and the cables will be hidden underneath your gutter guard cover, keeping them invisible while also protected. Thus, if you live in a particularly cold climate and/or an area that experiences harsh winters, Gutter Helmet would be a better choice for you.
